Introduction
The Forbidden City, also known as the Imperial Palace, was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties and is a symbol of ancient China. When you are in the imposing compound with its high walls, you can really feel its former glory.

??The long history has left behind a large number of precious buildings and countless cultural relics, which have also becomethe main attraction of visiting the Forbidden City.

??Classic attraction: The Forbidden City Watchtower is a polygonal building with a convex four-sided plan. It is located inDongcheng District, Beijing. It has three layers on the roof, with the upper layer being a hipped roof with vertical and horizontal rafters, formed by a combination of a gable roof with two slopes and a four-sided slope. It is called the Nine-ridge Hall because there are nine main ridges on this roof.

??Sundials are divided into two types according to their installation principles: equatorial and horizontal. A sundial installed according to the equatorial principleis called an equatorial sundial. The key points of its production are that it must have a time dial, a latitude arc and a sundial needle. To operate it, the hour disk must be parallel to the equator of the earth, and the sundial needle must be in the same direction as the earth’s axis. The moment is the time when the sundial needle casts a shadow on the sundial.

??The Treasure Gallery is located in the Ning Shou Palace area and is particularly rich in treasures, covering Buddhist items, ornaments, everyday utensils and curios.Among them, the red coral lion, which is about 14 cm high, the East Pearl Beads, which are about 130 cm long, and the gold “Fengtian Zhibao” seal are all rare treasures.

??The Clock and Watch Pavilion is located in the Fengxian Hall of the palace. The clocks and watches on display are mostly British products, but there are also clocks and watches from France,Switzerland and other countries. In addition to the timekeeping function, these clocks are very intricately crafted, with figures, birds and animals, flowers and other decorations that move in various ways.Among them, the gilded bronze writing man clock, the gilded bronze enameled gourd-topped fisherman, woodcutter, farmer and scholar clock, and the gilded bronze running man on a rhinoceros clock are very rare.
