Introduction

The National Centre for the Performing Arts is located on the west side of Tiananmen Square. Its teardrop-shaped building has a novel appearance and is especially beautiful when lit up at night.Visitors can tour the building and see unique musical instruments. During the opera festival from April to July each year, you can also enjoy wonderful opera in the public areas.

The National Centre for the Performing Arts has five floors, with an opera house, concert hall, drama theatre and small theatre.Visitors can enter through the north entrance, pass through the exhibition halls on the east and west sides, and take the direct elevator to the performance halls.

Opera House

The Opera House is dominated by a magnificent golden color scheme.It mainly stages operas, dance dramas, ballets and large-scale cultural performances.The opera house’s triangular stage is worth noting, and its versatility is amazing, allowing for quick scene changes.The opera house stages operas, musicals and other performances by domestic and foreign groups year-round. Concert Hall

The Concert Hall is white and solemn, with a tranquil, fresh and elegant color scheme and style. It hosts large-scale symphony and folk music performances.The pipe organ in the concert hall is elegant in appearance, with a full sound, many stops and pipes, and a rich tone. It is truly the “treasure of the hall”.The concert hall has been built with great attention to acoustics, and it is a real treat to enjoy a performance here.

Drama Theatre

The Drama Theatre is the theatre with national characteristics at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. It is dominated by the colour Chinese red, and the silk walls create a traditional and warm atmosphere.It mainly stages performances such as dramas, operas, and local operas.

Small Theater

The Small Theater is a multifunctional theater with a variety of performances at the National Center for the Performing Arts. It has a fresh overall color scheme and an elegant style, and can host performances of various art forms such as chamber music, small-scale solo recitals, small theater dramas, small theater operas, and modern dance.

In addition, there are two exhibition halls of 1,200 square meters each on the east and west sides of the north entrance of the Grand Theater, which host various art exhibitions year-round. If you are interested, you can come and visit.
