China Beijing Badaling Wildlife Park

Badaling Wildlife Park is located next to the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area and is one of Beijing’s most famous zoos.There are hundreds of species and tens of thousands of animals in the park, making it a great place to take children to see animals.You can drive around the zoo at any time, which makes it easy to observe and feed the animals up close.

Park overview

The main entrance to Badaling Wildlife Park is located on the north side, and at the southern end is an Ark Square. The square area includes an animal performance area, an observation area, and a temple.There are two roads from the main entrance on the north side to the square on the south side: one leads to the wild animal (predator) area, and the other leads to the gentle animal (herbivore) area. The animals in both areas are free-ranging, and visitors can observe the animals up close. In the gentle animal area, you can even open the car window to feed the animals.

Tour route

The tour route in the park is to first view the wild animal area, from which you can reach the square, visit the animal performance area and viewing area near the square, etc., and then return from the gentle animal area, visiting and feeding the gentleanimals.
The zoo can be accessed by car, which is very convenient, but a fee is charged for self-driving.If you are not driving, you need to take the public transportation in the park. There are buses on the road in the beast area that you can take, and you can also take the more open iron cage feeding vehicle.After visiting the plaza, you can either walk back from the gentle animal area or take an electric cart.

Fierce Beasts Area

The Fierce Beasts Area is the first area visitors enter when they enter the zoo. It includes the White Tiger Garden, Wolf Valley, Boar Forest, Lion and Tiger Garden, and Malay Bear Garden. Each area is separated by an iron gate to prevent the animalsfrom getting mixed up. The metal gates will automatically open when a vehicle arrives at the gate.
When driving or taking the park’s transportation past here, you can watch these animals along the way, and if you take the zoo’s iron cage feeding vehicle, you can also feed the animals.It should be noted that if you drive through this area, you must keep your windows closed and doors locked (some animals can open doors on their own) to prevent accidents.

Ark Square

Ark Square is mainly focused on performing arts and entertainment.There is an animal show arena in the square, where animal shows are held every weekend and on holidays. You can see bears riding bicycles and elephants dancing. It is a great place to visit with children.
There are also several animal viewing areas on the east side of the square. The animals here are kept in cages and can be fed.In some areas, you can hold the baby animals and take photos with them.There is also a small Buddhist temple on the hill behind the square, which those interested can visit and worship at.

Gentle Animal Area

On the way back, you will pass the Gentle Animal Area, which is dominated by herbivores, including sika deer, zebras, alpacas, and llamas. You can get out of the car and feed them. Many animals will come running for food, which is veryfun.On the way, you will pass by a lake where you can see egrets, swans and other animals.
In addition, there are a peacock garden, monkey mountain, panda pavilion and other places that can be visited, and some individual viewing and feeding gardens may charge an additional fee.
