Chongqing Three Gorges Top

The Three Gorges Scenic Area is located at the top of Chijia Mountain, above Kui Gate. The scenic area stretches more than 10 kilometers from Changbaochao in the north, overlooking Baiyan Mountain in the south, looking west towards the Baidi Poetry City, and bordering Wushan Airport in the east.The Three Gorges Scenic Area was named after the poem “Ten Quatrains of Kuizhou” by Du Fu: “Red armor, white salt, both pierce the sky; the houses are clustered around, reaching up to the mountain peak.” It successfully opened on May 1, 2020, and was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction in October 2020.

The top of the Three Gorges is located in one of the birthplaces of ancient Kui music more than 4,000 years ago, where a musician in Chinese history and the originator of refined music, Kui, was born.The scenic area deeply integrates the green mountains and clear waters with the search for one’s roots, singing and dancing, and refined music, and vividly portrays the magnificent scenery of “green mountains without ink, a thousand years of painting; clear waters without strings, an eternal zither”. It has carefully created music sanctuaries such as the Kui Drum Altar, the Siwang Music Altar, the Music Ancestor Statue, the Kui Character Gate, the Bamboo Music Fence, and the Dragon Welcome Terrace.

The highest point of the scenic area is 1,388 meters above sea level. It is the highest point in terms of physical form, the most beautiful in terms of landscape form, the most virtuous in terms of cultural level, the most supreme in terms of spiritual level, and the most perfect in terms of green development in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River.When you climb to the top, the clouds surround you and the colorful sunsets fill the sky. When you look out, you see rolling mountains and peaks. When you look down, you see the winding Yangtze River.Step onto the glass plank road and experience the peerless artistic conception of “reaching the top of the highest peak, overlooking all the other mountains as small”. A panoramic view of the landscape scroll painting interwoven with “suspension, danger, surprise and wonder” is revealed.
