A boat trip on the Huangpu River is one way to appreciate the bustling cityscape of Shanghai. As a century-old wharf in Shanghai, Shiliupu Pier is the starting point for a cruise. To the west of the Huangpu River is the Bund with its architectural ensemble of foreign countries, and to the east is the modern Lujiazui financial district. When night falls, the lights on both sides of the river are dazzling, and the scenery is even more beautiful.
There are three areas at the Shiliupu Wharf, with multiple departures including the Happy Captain, Dragon Boat, Crystal Princess, and Essence Cruises, among others. The cruise ship departs from the 16th Wharf, which is over 100 years old, and goes down the river. The first thing you see is the Lujiazui financial district, which is full of skyscrapers, and landmarks such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center are all here. After passing the magnificent Yangpu Bridge and the more than 100-year-old Waibaidu Bridge, you will arrive at the classic and solemn International Settlement, which combines various architectural styles and offers a beautiful view.
