The Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is located next to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Here, you can not only admire freshwater and marine creatures from all over the world, but also watch interesting animal shows. The aquarium’s four underwater tunnels are especially popular. Step inside and watch sharks and sea turtles swim overhead, offering a magical glimpse of the underwater world.

In addition to the Australian eels, African multibarbel fish, Southeast Asian white-tip sharks, South American electric eels and giant arapaimas and other strange-looking fish, the aquarium also has rare animals such as spotted seals, Antarctic penguins, and Chinese alligators, as well as cute seahorses and the museum’s treasuresthe sea grass dragon and the ribbon sea dragon.
The Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is also one of the world’s aquariums with a separate China exhibition area to showcase China’s unique aquatic life, including many nationally protected animals, such as the Chinese suckerfish and the Yangtze alligator.
In addition, there are also popular science exhibitions on species-specific topics in the “Special Exhibition Area”, which allow everyone to gain an in-depth understanding of marine life and strengthen their awareness of marine conservation. In particular, young people can also learn about various marine science and education.
