The Nature Wild Insect Museum is located in Lujiazui, Pudong, on the west side of the Oriental Pearl Tower. Here you can see all kinds of live insects and insect specimens, including rare insects with strange appearances that you may have never seen before. You can also see all kinds of amphibians and reptiles, such as lizards, frogs, and turtles. It is definitely an eye-opener to bring your children here.
The insectarium has two floors, and if you take your time with your children, you can see everything in about two hours. Be aware that it can get a little stuffy indoors in the summer.First, go to the upper floor, where there is a fish feeding area where you can feed the koi, and you can see animals such as alligators, snakes, and cute little tamarins. Then you will see all kinds of live insects and arthropods, including spiders, scorpions, stick insects, rhinoceros beetles, and various reptiles.
Downstairs you can see the reptiles, with various lizards, turtles, frogs, and a very rich collection of butterfly specimens. There are also small animals such as chinchillas, rabbits, goats, owls, bats, etc. You can feed the goats and rabbits and even touch them.Every weekend at 11:00 and 14:30, as well as during Golden Week and holidays at 11:00, 13:30, and 15:00, you can watch an interesting introduction to the animals in the small animal exhibition area, including chinchillas and lizards. Children can also go on stage to participate in the interaction.
