Shanghai Expo Culture Park
Introduction

The Shanghai World Expo Cultural Park is located in the core area of the Pudong Binjiang, adjacent to the Huangpu River in the northwest, east to Lupu Bridge and Changqing North Road, south to Tongyao Road and Longbin Road, with a land area of about 2 square kilometers. The Shanghai World Expo Cultural Park is positioned as an outstanding urban central park in the world, with sustainable ecology and nature, cultural integration and innovation, and citizens gathering together to share.Incorporating the existing Backshore Wetland Park, the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Park has transformed the four remaining World Expo venues, while also building new facilities such as the Expo Garden, Shen Garden, Twin Peaks, Shanghai Conservatory, World Horticultural Garden, Grand Opera House, and International Equestrian Center, to create a unique riverside park green space in the heart of Shanghai in the future.

The Shanghai World Expo Cultural Park takes historical water systems, industrial memories, and the Expo fabric as representative elements, and superimposes forests, wetlands, and lawns to form a multi-layered landscape structure system of “water, landforms, culture, and nature.” The landscaped extension of the Expo fabric has achieved the continuation of the Expo spirit, presenting a transformation from the Expo Park to the ecological experience area in the city center. The landscape design of the park strives to be natural, incorporating Jiangnan cultural elements to showcase the characteristics of Jiangnan gardens. The Shengyuan Park interprets the symbiotic coexistence of forests and gardens in the form of a garden within a garden. The colorful forest, composed of preserved trees and new tree species, paints a continuous picture scroll from an urban forest to a natural forest.

The northern part of the park, which is open to the public, covers an area of 85 hectares and is mainly composed of landscape areas and attractions such as the Dancing Plaza, Quiet Forest, Time Mark Avenue, Expo Garden, Music Forest, Central Lake, Back Beach Riverside, and Shengyuan.
