The Tianjin Eye is a Ferris wheel that spans the Haihe River. It looks like an eye on a bridge and is one of Tianjin’s most famous landmarks. Every night when the lights come on, the Tianjin Eye’s colorful lights are beautiful. Countless tourists come here to take panoramic photos or take a sightseeing ride and enjoy a different kind of romance.
There are generally two ways to enjoy the Tianjin Eye: ride it or take a photo from a distance. The price for a ride on the Ferris wheel is 80 yuan per person during the day and 100 yuan per person at night. The Ferris wheel takes about 30 minutes to complete one rotation. The gondolas are air-conditioned and offer a slow-moving view of the surrounding open landscape. It is especially beautiful at night after dark when the lights are turned on.
If you want to take a photo of the Ferris wheel, you can go to the Konggang Bridge on the south side of the Ferris wheel. Standing on the bridge, the mouth of the Sanchahe River (where the Haihe, South Canal, and North Canal meet) is right in front of you, and the gentle Tianjin Eye spreads out before you, surrounded by the beautiful buildings on both sides of the Haihe River. Just snap away and you’ll have a beautiful photo of the landmark.
